Eyecare. We Care.

Montgomery Optometrists was set up in 1990 by Optometrists Brian and Karen Montgomery who opened their first practice in Sidegate in Haddington. A year later the partnership with Margaret Goldberg was formed with the Tranent and Prestonpans practices being opened.

A lens laboratory was installed in Prestonpans and it has been managed by Craig Robertson since 1991. The Musselburgh practice of Montgomery Optometrists was opened in 1996. In 2004 the Prestonpans practice became one of the first Kodak Lens Vision centres in Scotland.

In 2007 all four of our practices became Kodak Lens Vision Centres, remaining completely independent but backed by world renowned Kodak Lens. We joined over 250 Kodak Lens Vision Centres across the UK and are currently Scotland’s largest independent group of Kodak Lens Vision Centres. This means our patients benefit from a huge range of technologically advanced Kodak lenses for better sight and improved looks.

Our practice actively embraces new technology and has continually invested in the latest equipment, a policy which is reflected in each practice having instruments such as Digital Retinal Cameras. We regularly send our optometrists on training courses run by suppliers and official bodies in order to keep up to date with new developments and new techniques. All of this is reinforced by old fashioned service and friendliness.

Many of the staff working at Montgomery Optometrists have been with the company since it started and continue to strive to give the best possible service to our patients.

We would like to thank all patients who have supported us over the years and continue to do so.
